Sourcing

Every regulated figure — meter rates, surcharges, congestion fees, the JFK flat fare — is taken from primary 2026 sources: the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission rules, the MTA, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, and the Port Authority. We re-check them on each major update.

Estimates vs. quotes

Flat-fare ranges, typical UberX fares, and surge multipliers are market-typical estimates synthesized from multiple operator pages and reporting, not a quote from any one company. They are always labeled as such. Where a value is variable or uncertain, we use a conservative figure and flag it.

Rankings

Operator rankings are editorial. We name real, verifiable companies in plain text, take no commission, and link to none of them. We never invent an operator or a phone number. Our top pick is disclosed and reflects the flat-fare, no-surge criterion the site is built around.

Corrections

We fix errors promptly and note material changes. Flag anything that looks wrong via the contact page.
